Postponing all 4-H events!

Dear 4-Her's,

As the safety and well being of every person involved with our program is our highest priority, the San Bernardino County 4-H program is postponing all non essential meetings and events until further notice. you may continue to hold your animal project meetings that must be completed for the fair if you follow safe practices. Safe practices include the ones outlined below and maintaining a social distance of six feet per person. We will keep you posted on when 4-H activities may again be held. Hopefully, these precautionary measures will help slow the spread of Coronavirus and keep all of our members and volunteers safe.

UC ANR (through which 4-H is managed) has released these guidelines:

*ANR-hosted in-person meetings or events scheduled to take place before April 30 with 150 participants or more, regardless of location, should be cancelled or postponed.

*Smaller gatherings held in venues that do not allow social distancing of six feet per person should be postponed or cancelled.

These guidelines and the goal of keeping our members safe has informed the decision by the San Bernardino County 4-H Office to postpone all 4-H activities.

Please remember to follow these guidelines from the CDC:

The immediate risk of being exposed to this virus is still low for most Americans, but as the outbreak expands, that risk will increase. Everyone can take actions to protect yourself and your family.

Everyday preventative actions include:

*Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. Use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer that contains at least 60% alcohol if soap and water are not available.

*Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands.

*Avoid close contact with people who are sick.

*Stay home when you are sick.

*Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue, then throw the tissue in the trash.

*Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces.

*Practice social distancing if COVID-19 is spreading in your community.

I am sorry for any inconvenience to you. Our priority is to see you all well and safe!
